Chairpersons as Effective Leaders
It is clear that the role of Chairperson within a community and voluntary organisation is pivotal to the operation of that organisation. It is equally clear that the Chairperson can influence every facet of an organisation, from its ethos to its operational efficiency and can have a profound effect on its governance. Therefore, it has long been recognised that there is a need for focus and attention to the challenges which Chairpersons face.
With the involvement of fourteen member organisations, DFI undertook a project, entitled 'Chairpersons as Effective Leaders', which sought to identify and improve the supports needed to enhance this role.
A project report has been produced by the project consultant, Stephen Rourke, and we now have pleasure in making this valuable resource available online.
A limited number of paper copies of the report are still available free of charge.
To request a paper copy or to discuss any aspect of the project report or how DFI might be able to assist you in relation to any of the issues raised, please contact Anthony Carrick at DFI on 01 708 0105, 086 820 6736, firstname.lastname@example.org.
This project has been supported by the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs.
