Launch of the Implementation Plan for the National Housing Strategy for Disabled People 2022 - 2027 takes place in Dublin

DFI attended the launch of the Implementation Plan for the National Housing Strategy for Disabled People 2022-2027 which took place in Dublin on Thursday 22 June 2023.

DFI welcomes this publication as we have been advocating for its publication of this implementation plan along with other disability and housing organisations, for some time. 

We will provide our analysis once we have had a chance to review the 72 page document.

We look forward to positively supporting implementation as members of the National Implementation Steering Group and at a local level as it has the potential to make a hugely positive change for disabled people if appropriate targets, monitoring structures, and resources are now put in place to support the implementation. There is an undisputed high level of unmet housing need among the disabled population, and implementation of the Strategy is essential to address this.
