Fingal County Council seeks public input on Access Strategy
April 17 2024, 03:47pm
Fingal County Council is preparing an Access Strategy - the first of its kind for Fingal and has launched a survey to gather public insight.
The survey should take no more than ten minutes to complete and is open to everyone. Persons with experience of disability and additional needs are particularly encouraged to share their views and insights.

Commenting on the survey, Fingal County Council’s Access Officer, Cathal Kearney says, "We hope to have a response from as wide a range of the community as possible. It is vital for us to understand and truly appreciate the issues that may be experienced by the people of Fingal when engaging with our services. Whether you’re visiting our libraries, taking part in community events or meeting our staff to discuss housing provision we want to ensure that your experience is equal and appropriate to your needs."
Fingal Council Council will use the information gathered in this survey to help them understand where improvements in accessibility and inclusion are most needed. The results will also be used to inform an Access Strategy for Fingal, which will be published later this year. The Fingal Access Strategy will contain actions and objectives for ensuring that all services provided by Fingal County Council are accessible for and inclusive of all.
The survey has been made available online and hard copies are also available at Fingal County Council’s Customer Care Units in both County Hall (Swords) and Grove Road, Blanchardstown. Those who prefer to provide an audio recording or video recording of their survey responses for reasons of accessibility can also do so. Information on how to send these recordings to the Council is available in the online survey introduction.
