As part of this years Limerick Lifelong Learning Festival, SOLA will host an information seminar on the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018 on Tuesday 20th March 2018 at the University of Limerick from 12 noon to 1pm

Adopted on 27th April 2016 and enforceable across Europe from 25th May 2018, The General Data Protection Regulation is a regulation by the European Parlilament, the Council of the European Union and the European Commission, intended to strengthen and unify data protection for all individuals within the European Union (EU). The primary objectiove of the GDPR are to give control back to citizens and residents over their personal data and simplify the regulatory environment for international business by unifying the regulation within the EU. This regulation has implations on all community and voluntary sector organisations and how data is handled and treated as it passes through the organisation.
