Neuro-Mapping Project Phase Two Report
Issued on December 4 2024
The report of phase two of the Neuro-Mapping Project was launched by the Minister of State Ann Rabbitte TD on 16 Oct 2024.
The project was led by the HSE, Disability Federation of Ireland and the Neurological Alliance of Ireland, and it engaged with 56 people with neurological conditions and 137 service providers to establish the current picture of community neuro-rehabilitation services in Ireland.
Key findings from the report include:
- There are not enough specialist community Neuro-Rehabilitation Services
- It is difficult to find what services are available in the community
- There are obstacles to attending services, including waiting lists, where you live and access to transportation
- There are not enough long-term supports, particularly for physical and psychological well-being.
- Having a support network is important.
